Social media has a great many benefits for everyone from single individuals to massive global corporations. lets dive in and see what the benefits of social media really are...
Individuals:
Social media provides many creative features for individuals, from sharing the latest cat video to taking the mick out of your friends with the wittiest comment you can think of.
If your ultimate goal is to connect with friends and family then social media is a brilliant tool for doing so. however if your goal is to find a partner, then maybe try a dating site instead, i hear there are a great selection to choose from.
Societies:
If you need to share footage of a criminal breaking into your house with the people around you in case they saw anything suspicious then social media is a much better tool than simply knocking on their door and showing them the footage. if they want to help you out then they will look at the footage and leave a comment if they saw anything that might be useful.
Businesses:
For businesses, social media provides the power of reach, if you have a social media account you can make posts, send messages and even provide support if needed, but you can reach much wider audience by paying the company behind the platform a small fee to display your post on the social media feeds of other people who may or may not be interested in your company and who may or may not be potential customers, using the power of neural networking and algorithmic advertising they can display your post to 5 people, or to 150 million people, either way it will still cost you a pretty penny if you want to keep the advertising campaign running for more than a few days as these platforms normally charge a heck of a lot of money for advertising spots*.
Groups:
If you want to organise an event or if you are part of a small group, you can use social media to keep everyone up to speed. It allows others to share information, lists, dates, times etc so that everyone keeps up with all the information. This means that there are no misunderstandings. If you want a reliable place to do this, Whatsapp and Messenger are good platforms. They allow you to see the attachments of the chat easily and also on Whatsapp specifically you can reply to a specific message so its easier for others to see what you are referring to.
