False information and lie can be an issue for companies as people may think incorrect and bad things about your company that aren’t true. I can also be an issue for users as correct information and unbiased news can be hard to find.

Trolls

People may mess with your company’s surveys and on the company’s social media making it harder to ask questions on the companies and the services they provide. Trolls are also an issue for users as they can cause a disturbance and harass the user.

Hackers

Hackers can be a big issue for companies, especially when they are holding user login data and have a social media presence as hackers can steal that login information and personal data as well as mess with the company’s social media posting bad things on the account.

Misunderstood jokes and sarcasm

On the internet, it is harder to see that someone is joking or is being sarcastic, as you can’t see their face and the tone of their voice. Meaning you should be careful when posting that can be misunderstood as offensive or aggressive.

Burglary

Posting online that you are on holiday is dangerous for users as if someone sees that is looking for some money they can find where you live and break in and you will not be there to stop them. This can also be an issue for companies as they have much more to lose, such as their reputation and money out of the till or products.

Wasting time

The use of social media can take time away from other things and distract you from working in a company or maybe for some users spending time with the people closest to you such as your friends and family. Time can also be wasted through people hacking your websites and people causing disturbances.

Marketing backfires

When you release a product and it is not well received angry users and people wanting to cause chaos can attack your services and do all the things above, such as hack you and cause a general disturbance.

Bullying

Online bullying can be a danger to people and business as members of company's and people in comment sections bullying other can look bad for a company as well as make individuals feel worthless and put them into depression.

Isolation

Some people can get absorbed in to their online life so much i pulls them away from the real world and i can break bonds with friends and family, isolating them from the rest of society.

Brainwashing

The internet can be used to pressure people in to doing bad things and show inappropriate images. For example many young Muslims have been recruited into joining ISIS, this is mostly by then getting close to the young Muslims and manipulating them into joining.

Cat fishing

Cat fishing is a major problem online this is where people pose as other people online pretending to be their friend in order to exploit them.

An example of this is that many young girls get pressured to put inappropriate images of themselves on the internet for the illegal viewing of older men posing as younger boys.
